| On the way to
Dominica, we were unable to stop at Montserrat but we certainly were able to
take a good look at the damage and have a good sniff of sulfur on this still active
volcano.
|
Two thirds of
the island looked like any other Caribbean Island, however the southern
third had been devastated since the 1995 eruption.

|
| We were
visited by a pod of dolphins off Guadeloupe just before dusk.
|
They danced
and splashed all around our bows.

|
| Wrecks from
past hurricanes were everywhere in beautiful Portsmouth Harbour, Dominica.
|
Although
Portsmouth was Dominica's only substantial beautiful beach, this is the
typical scene (between the wrecked freighters); with small shanties and fishing shacks all along it.

| This is
Bounty, our boat boy. He took us on a river cruise, a tour of the bay
and a trip to the customs office...all for a fee!
|
Bounty's
house. We tipped him well!

|
|
| Our trip up
Indian River in Dominica. They claim they have a river for
every day of the year!
|
These children
were late for school. This is their dad delivering them, sometime mid
morning!

|
|
This is one of my favourite pictures. The intricately buttressed Mang tree is a favourite of the Indian River tour. |

| Lunch anyone?
|
How about a
nice cool drink on your way home from work?
